FREDERICK, Md. , October 22, 2026—The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Air Safety Institute (ASI) has released "Accident Case Study: Death Near Dark Canyon. " The video examines a 2012 crash in the Utah backcountry that killed three pilots, one of whom survived the impact but had no way to call for help.
